During the worship service, children 3 years of age through 3rd grade learn catechism with Kid's Quest. Catechism is designed to systematically teach the basics of knowing and serving God. The teaching is organized to cover the basic topics of creation, providence and salvation. Each child is given a First Catechism booklet. This booklet is designed to do two things:
1. Provide a list of questions and answers at a child's level to enable children to memorize fundamental doctrines of the faith.
2. Provide a resource for parents and children to use as reference for our current study and their use.
While it is always good to talk about the material in the Catechism at home, it is much better to memorize the questions and answers in order to provide a fundamental foundation for defending the faith that we hold so dear. This is the chief aim of having the program: we want our children to grow firm in their faith and strong in their ability to defend it.
